Hello and welcome to Harvest Hills Elementary School!

Harvest Hills Elementary is in our first year as we open the building this Fall 2021-2022! It marks the 7th elementary school in the district and serves approximately 350 students and their families. Harvest Hills Elementary’s preschool through 5th grade students includes three sections of kindergarten, two sections of first grade, three sections of second grade, two sections of third, and three sections of fourth, and fifth grade. We also host two preschool programs that offer half day preschool classes for three and four year old learners.
Harvest Hills Elementary is composed of 21 veteran classroom teachers from other elementary schools across the Gretna Public Schools district, along with 8 new teacher hires. Our veteran support staff includes 12 positions that vary from paras, school nurse, custodians, kitchen manager, and office staff. The mission of Gretna Public Schools is upheld by all staff; "unconditionally accepting all students and maximizing their potential." We strive each day to support the growth of the whole child.

All elementary buildings have a full time counselor, nurse, kitchen staff, and special area teachers for Visual Art, Physical Education, Technology, Media, and Music. For qualified students, we also offer High Ability Learning curriculum, Special Education, and intervention in reading and math.

In the Gretna Public Schools district, we believe that the success of our students relies on a parent and community partnership. We invite our families to join us as we build a community of learners while establishing our school culture and traditions. If you would like to get involved, our Parent-Teacher Organization offers many opportunities throughout the year.
From all of us at Harvest Hills Elementary, it is an honor to serve the Gretna Public Schools community. We are looking forward to meeting you and working with your family.
