About Us

Hello and welcome to Harvest Hills Elementary School!

We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure all children can achieve their highest potential. In order to ensure success at school, we know our children need support from both the home and school. A strong partnership with you will make an incredible difference in your child’s education. As partners, we will share the responsibility for our children’s success, and I want you to know that we are committed to our responsibilities. As a lifelong learner and educator, I am dedicated to developing a love of learning and maximizing the growth of all our students!

Harvest Hills Elementary’s Kindergarten through 5th grade students include three sections of classes.  We also host two preschool programs that offer half day preschool for three and four year old learners. Overall, our enrollment for the 2022-23 school year is at over 400 students.

Harvest Hills Elementary is composed of 26 veteran classroom teachers from the Gretna Public Schools district, along with 2 new teacher hires. Our veteran support staff includes 8 returning positions and 2 new positions that vary from paras, school nurse, custodians, kitchen manager, and office staff. Whether veteran or new teacher, paraprofessional, custodian, office or kitchen staff, we all strive to live our mission; "unconditionally accepting all students and maximizing their potential". We strive each day to support the growth of the whole child.

We encourage you, as a parent, to not only become involved with your child's social and academic growth, but also with the Harvest Hills Elementary staff this year. The PTO is open to all Gretna parents and guardians and will be offering many volunteer opportunities. We truly need you and would love to have you involved! To contact our PTO you can join the Facebook page, Harvest Hills Pto or email at [email protected].

We continue to have many positions still to fill within our building. Please call the office or email Kirsten Troester at [email protected] for further information or to apply. Thank you for considering!

A Message from our School Counselor...

Harvest Hills Families,

As a school counselor part of my job is to help families who may need some extra supports. Sometimes these supports are in the form of finding resources, sometimes they are temporary and sometimes they are long term. Whatever the case may be, I am here to help in any way I can to decrease stress and worry for you.
If at any time your family requires some extra support, please do not hesitate to fill out this CONFIDENTIAL form so I know how to help and what resources to gather for you.

Sincerely, Ashley Hergott
